A group of academics, practitioners and researchers from
Latin America and the Caribbean, the United States,
Asia and Africa have joined together to establish the
Centre for International and Border Studies (CIBS) .
Dr. Kirton is a former Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Guyana and Director, Institute of International Relations, University of The West Indies, Trinidad. His research and publications have included regional integration, Latin American politics and development.
Dr. Quamber is the holder of a Ph.D from the University of Texas at Austin and is currently
Director,Area Study Centre for Africa,North and South America and lecturer at Quaid -i - Azam University in Pakistan about this item
Col. Liverpool is a security specialist with significant experience in regional security policy
making, former staff member of the CARICOM Secretariat and permanent secretary in the
government of Guyana.
Mr. Woolford is a journalist, former Chairman and CEO of the National communications Network (NCN) in Guyana and the holder of a Master’s degree in International Relations from Syracuse University.
Dr. Olowolafe , born in London, trained as a medical doctor is an entrepreneur who currently serves as Chairman of Deux Project Limited and Chancellor of the Ekiti State University in Nigeria
Ambassador Miles is a former Ambassador of Guyana to Venezuela who also served as
Ambassador to Brazil and as Director General of the Ministry of Foreign A4airs of Guyana.
Dr. Rai is a former lecturer and researcher in public policy and is the holder of a doctoral
degree from the University of The West Indies . He is currently a management consultant and an independent leadership and management coach .
Professor Rosen is the holder of Ph. D from the University of Miami and currently teaches in New Jersey . He has published several books on transnational organized crime, gangs and drugs in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Dr. Dore is a Fellow at the Cipriani College of Labour and Cooperative Studies and is the holder of a Ph.D in International Relations from the University of The West Indies .
Prof. Correa is attached to the Federal University of Amapa’ , Brazil and has published books on border security, regional integration and related international issues . .
Dr. Witter is a senior researcher and former senior lecturer in economics at the University of the West Indies , Mona , Jamaica. He also served as a Senior Research Fellow at the Sir Arthur Lewis Centre for Social and Economic Studies at UWI , Mona , Jamaica .
Dr. Skeete is the holder of a Ph. D from the University of the West Indies and is currently Trade Research Fellow at the Ramphal Centre for International Trade, Law, Policy and Services based at the University of The West Indies, Cave Hill, Barbados .
Dr. Anatol is the Dean of Research at Cipriani College of Labour and Cooperative Studies,
Trinidad and Director of TAIRASS, a research and consultancy organization
Ms. Rampersaud is a researcher and holds a Certificate in Law and Politics from the University of Windsor Canada. She is also a licensed Certified Practitioner in Anti Money-Laundering and an Associate Member of the International Compliance Association ,(AICA)
Dr. Henry is the holder of a doctoral degree in International Relations in International Relations from the University of The West Indies and is an independent Consultant.
Ms. Olivieira is a researcher and holds the Master of Science degree in Global Studies from the Institute of International Relations, University of The West Indies .
Professor Emeritus McCoy is a former professor of Latin American Studies and Political Science and served as Director of the Centre for Latin American Studies at the University of Florida .
Dr. Martoredjo is a researcher and the holder of a doctoral degree in International Relations from the University of The West Indies. He has published articles related to regional integration, development and foreign policy in the hemisphere.
Prof. Kirton is a researcher and former professor of economics at the University of the West
Indies, Mona Jamaica. His research has included the informal economy, remittances , poverty and related issues . integration, development and foreign policy in the hemisphere.
Dr. Chesney is a former executive director of the Caribbean Agricultural Research and
Development Institute (CARDI). His wide experience also includes operations manager at the Caribbean Food Corporation and as the deputy chief agricultural officer in Guyana . remittances , poverty and related issues . integration, development and foreign policy in the hemisphere.
Anthony Gonzales worked as a Lecturer and then Senior Lecturer at the Institute of International Relations, where he taught International Trade. He is also a former Acting Director of the Institute of International Relations of the University of the West Indies at St Augustine and also served as the Interim Director of the Institute of International Relations at UWI, St Augustine and
